Harford District Cub Scout Summer Day Camp 2021

June 28 - July 3

Summer Day Camp’s theme will be “Down on the Farm.”  Day Camp is planned for June 28th through July 2nd  Camp will be held at the Equestrian Center on Tollgate Road in Bel Air.  Camp hours are 8:30am-4:30pm (ends at 1:30pm on Friday).  Registration will open in Feb 2021.
The camp program of activities provides fun and adventure in the outdoors.  Emphasis is placed on new experiences difficult to obtain in the usual indoor den atmosphere.  Popular activities include:  BB guns, archery, slingshots, sports, art projects, woodworking, and more.  The boys and girls (and adults) have a blast!  A more detailed description is available at www.harforddaycamp.org.
Who can go to Day Camp?
Cub Scout Day Camp is for current Lions, Tigers, Wolves, Bears, and Webelos I Scouts.  The rank used to register your scout is the rank the scout will be in Fall 2021 (i.e. a current Tiger in the 1st grade will register as a Wolf for Day Camp).  New Lion & Tiger scouts, who will enter Kindergarten or the first grade September 2021, may also attend day camp accompanied by a parent or guardian.  New Lions will register at Tagalongs.
Who runs Day Camp?

You do!  Day camp is a 100% volunteer staffed event.  Every person is someone’s Mom, Dad, Grandparent, older Brother/Sister, etc.  Every role is important to the success of our camp!   A volunteer discount is available for any volunteer over the age of 18!  This can add up to a significant savings, so round everyone up! (To receive the discount, adult volunteers must register at the same time as the scout.  Volunteers who do not fulfill their commitment will not be allowed to volunteer in subsequent years.)

In order to ensure adequate adult to scout ratios, we have been asked to identify 4 volunteers for every 8 scouts attending camp.  We need volunteers to serve as Den Leaders, Assistant Den Leaders, Station Leaders or Helpers, Tag-A-Long Leaders or Helpers, Medical Staff, Facilities, or others as needed.  You don’t need prior experience to serve as a Den Leader, talk to some of our past volunteers to find out how rewarding and fun it is!  You can learn more about the different volunteer positions at the Harford Day Camp website.

Adult and Youth volunteer Training dates TBD.

What if I have other children?
Register children 4-10 in the Tag-A-Long Program.  Tag-A-Longs must be at least 4 years of age by June 1, 2019 and be potty trained.  Age appropriate activities are created for each age group.  Tag-A-Longs are only permitted to be registered on days when the adult is volunteering on-site.  Your older children (boys or girls) aged 11-17 may volunteer as youth helpers!

Will open in Feb 2021.
