Scouting for Toiletries (alternative to Scouting for Food) Turn-in Day
April 13 @ 6:30 pm - 7:00 pm EDT
Our Pack participates in a “Scouting for Food” national scouting event each March/April. We typically collect food donations and then donate them to Grove Presbyterian Church which is our Chartered Organization. We reached out to them and they have an abundance of food donations already from other various community partners, but they are in need of toiletries. Each week Grove distributes food and toiletries in bags to families in need.
Here is what you can do to help:
Collect toiletries (I.e. bar soap, body wash, shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, shave cream, deodorant, toilet paper, etc) and plan to drop off at Grove Presbyterian Church on Tuesday, April 13th between 6:30-7pm. There are no requirements as to size or brand of products. The only requirement is that the items must be unused and in original container. Size of toilet paper packs does not matter because they will be putting 1 roll in each bag distributed to the families in need.
Participation in this event will satisfy service project requirements for your scout’s rank and scouts will receive a “Scouting for Food” patch as well. We understand that this is a not a food drive but feel that meeting the needs of our community still fulfills the “Scouting for Food” purpose.
We hope each scout family participates in this event!
