SUMMARY:Susquehanna State Park Hike - Pack Event
DESCRIPTION:Save the date for a great local Pack hike.  On Monday\, July 17th at 6:00 pm we will meet at the Susquehanna State Park picnic area.  We will be taking the Deer Creek Trail which is a 2.1-mile hike.  The website rates it as a moderate to difficult trail personally\, I don’t think it is a difficult hike.  Along the hike\, we will geocache and be able to see the Champion White Oak as well as the fallen Champion Beech.  It cost $2 per car to park in the picnic area.  Parking is based on the honor system so please bring cash there is no one there to make change or charge credit cards.  Please signup below so we know who is coming:

SUMMARY:Muddy Run Day Trip - Holtwood\, PA
DESCRIPTION:Join us on Saturday\, July\, 15th for a day of fun at Muddy Run in Holtwood PA.  We will meet at the parking lot near the playground at 10:00 am.  We will begin our day with a hike around the lake on the Lakeshore Trail.  While we hike we will look for some geocaches.  After the hike\, we will have a picnic at the picnic tables in the park (bring your own lunch!).  Following lunch\, the scouts can play on the Muddy Run Splash Pad.  This event is free. \nFamilies can leave as they want throughout the day or participate in other activities within Muddy Run if they desire.  Activities that the park has include the Visitor Center (with many activities and interpretive displays)\, disc golf course\, soccer golf course\, basketball scouts\, playgrounds\, fishing\, and boat\, kayak\, and canoe rentals.  Parking\, entry into Muddy Run\, picnic tables\, Splash Pad\, and visitor center are all free.  There is a snack shack if you want to buy lunch or snacks instead of bringing lunch.  Boat rentals charge a fee as well.    Please signup below to let us know you will be coming:

SUMMARY:Pack Event - Raingutter Regatta
DESCRIPTION:Join us for our Pack Raingutter Regatta event on Tuesday\, May 16th at 6:30pm at Grove.  The Pack will be providing boats in advance once your scout is signed up to attend the event.  Scouts should come with their boat built/painted/designed and ready to sail down the rudder.  The boats come ready to assemble but it is recommended that your scout color and/or paint the boat and sail to make it their own.  Scouts will propel their boat by blowing through a straw to create wind to the sail.  Awards will be given for fastest boats in each den and Pack and there will be voting awards as well. Categories to include: Best in Show\, Best theme\, Best paint job\, Most creative\, Most colorful\, Most boaty  \nWe will have both a sibling race and an adult race!  There is an option to sign-up below as well.  You can purchase a boat from the Pack for $6 if you choose to race as a sibling or adult. \nPlease sign up to race in this event ASAP by Tues. May 2nd so that we can create the race sequence ahead of time and ensure all scouts signed up have their boat kits.  The sign-up sheet is below:

DESCRIPTION:You are invited to “take on the hills” at Iron Valley for snow tubing in Lebanon\, PA.  We will be reserving a group for the 10am-12pm (arrive by 9:30am) time slot on Sunday\, February 5th.  Our group must arrive 30 minutes prior to our time slot for check-in.  Sign-up to attend this event will close on Friday\, January 20th or when the max group size for time-slot has been met.\n \nGroups rates are available for groups of 12-25 and 25+ with the larger groups having a greater discount.  As long as we qualify for the larger group rate ($26/person) the Pack will charge a fee of $10 per person (more than 1/2 off the cost!). \nChildren must be 40 inches tall to ride the large hills.  Children are NOT allowed to ride with adults and one person per tube only.  They do not allow tethering of one tube to another – it is not safe. \nNo entrance is permitted to the tubing area without wearing a valid lift pass (paid ticket) but spectators can view from the side of the hills (last year they did allow spectators at the top but that was because we were the only group there in our time slot and numbers were lower due to covid restrictions).  We cannot guarantee the same will happen this year. \nLarge hills are over 900 feet long and have 133 feet of drop. \nThere are 2 tow lifts to pull you back up the hill. \nAttire:  You are encouraged to wear good\, outdoor clothing.  Warm boots\, a warm coat\, hat\, and gloves are suggested.  Snow pants are highly recommended. \nIron Valley asks that you change into your snow gear at your vehicle rather than in the restroom. \nFree parking is available right next to the tubing hill and clubhouse. \nOnly tubes provided by Iron Valley Tubing are allowed on the slope. \nA waiver is required to be filled out for each participant PRIOR to arrival.  You will receive this waiver via email once our group is registered. \nIron Valley website:  https://ironvalleytubing.com/ \nWe will deduct fees from your scout’s scout account or send a square invoice once registration closes.  Note that any scout who had at least 1 popcorn sale during our fall fundraiser will be able to attend this event or our rock climbing event for FREE. \nPlease use the sign-up below to reserve your spot!  Please ensure you type each participant’s name (scouts\, siblings\, adults) and enter correct quantity in the following box.

DESCRIPTION:Please join us for an indoor rock climbing experience at The Delaware Rock Gym on Sunday\, January 22nd!  We will have two time slots available\, 11am-1pm and 2-4pm.  This is a Pack event and all scouts\, siblings\, and adult partners are welcome to attend!  Our Pack is heavily subsidizing this event due to our very successful Fall popcorn fundraiser 🙂  Only those climbing need to pay the fee but siblings/adult partners are welcome to come free of charge to cheer the climbers on!  Please use the sign-up sheet below to sign-up to attend this event!  Sign up is first come\, first serve.  Registration closes once all spots are filled. \nFee for climbers:  $10/person \nWe will deduct fees from your scout’s scout account or send a square invoice closer to event date.  Note that any scout who had at least 1 popcorn sale during our fall fundraiser will be able to attend this event or our snow tubing event for FREE. \nPlease arrive to the Gym 15 minutes prior to your time slot start time so that our group is all ready to go and we get the full 2 hours of climb time. \nAll climbers must complete a DE Rock Gym release agreement and can be found online here:  http://www.derockgym.com/release.php.   Please complete online prior to the event date to save time upon arrival so that our groups are able to start on-time!  We only have the 2 hour slot of time for each group so if we start late\, our time will be cut short. \nAll climbers need to wear closed toe/closed heel shoes such as sneakers.  Activity uniform (Pack t-shirt) encouraged but not required – dress comfortably!  All climbing gear is provided by the Rock Gym and will not need to be rented.  We have unlimited climbing during our time-slots and each climber will be belayed by a Rock Gym staff member (groups of climbers per belayer) so no prior training is required! \nNote that there is no age limit or weight limit for climbers – all can participate!  The Gym does recommend age of 5-6 for climbing\, younger than that may not be ready…use your judgement. \nYou are allowed to bring a light snack (non-messy) and drink. \nGuidelines for using this sign-up sheet: \n\nSign-up for which time slot your climber(s) will be attending.\nSpecify how many scouts\, siblings\, adult partners will be climbing.\nPut total number of climbers in the “Item QTY” field.\nWe are limited to 25 climbers in each time slot so if you sign-up and then need to change your time slot\, please ensure you notify Pack leadership so it can be updated properly.  You cannot just show up to the other time slot and hope to climb.\nIf you sign-up and then need to cancel due to a scheduling conflict\, please ensure you delete your sign-up here as well.  It’s important that we have our numbers correct.  If you need help deleting your sign-up\, please reach out to Pack leadership.

SUMMARY:Aberdeen Christmas Parade
DESCRIPTION:Our Pack will be participating in the Aberdeen Christmas Parade on Saturday\, December 3rd.  The parade begins at 3pm but we will need to line up around 2:15pm. \n\nScouts/Leaders can dress in field or activity uniform – be comfortable and ensure you dress warm.  Feel free to wear holiday accessories.\n \nScout families are asked to arrive between 2:15 and 2:30pm so that you have adequate time to locate the float in the parade line-up.  If you make your way to St. Joan of Arc School\, there will be parade managers on the corners to ask what number Pack 802 is in the line-up.  We have been told we are #25 in the lineup but please confirm when you arrive in case anything changes.  There are numbers on stakes along the sidewalk to then locate where our float will be if not already parked there.  Note that Parents/adult partners and siblings are welcome to walk alongside the float with the scouts. \nThe parade will begin at approximately 3:00pm near the St. Joan of Arc School on Law Street.  The parade route will follow South Law Street\, right on West Bel Air Ave\, and left on Howard Street and disband near Festival Park.  There is little off-street parking available near the parade start but there are public lots available along West Bel Air Ave and near the Aberdeen Fire Department. \nThis is a rain or shine event! \nNote that the tree lighting and other festivities occur in Festival Park after the conclusion of the parade if you are interested in this part of the celebration (optional). \nAddress for St. Joan of Arc School: \n222 Law St\, Aberdeen\, MD 21001

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a Pack bike trip on Tuesday\, August 9th 5:30PM on the C&D canal trail.\n\nWe plan for the group to ride about 6 miles out and back along the paved\, flat\, Ben Cardin Trail.  Please see the AllTrails link below for additional information and photos of the trail:\n\nhttps://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/maryland/ben-cardin-c-d-canal-trail-to-michael-castle-trail?u=i\n\nWe will meet at the westernmost trailhead parking lot in Chesapeake City at 5:30PM and will begin our ride at 5:40PM.  The parking lot for the trail is located under the bridge at the end of Banks Street adjacent to Schaefer’s Canal House restaurant. The exact GPS coordinates of parking lot are (39.5306713\, -75.8135233)\n\nThis ride is appropriate for all ages including scouts with training wheels.  With that said\, the trail runs adjacent to the canal and therefore does not have any shade.\n\nAll participants should come prepared with a functional bike\, bike helmet\, water\, and sunscreen.
