This hike was performed by members of Pack 802 as a summer outing in June 2017. This is a short out and back hike with the primary destination of Kilgore Falls. This park has been overcrowded for the last several years and now requires a reservation to visit during peak season (May through September). I highly recommend visiting this to view the waterfall during the off season and looking for an alternative location to swim during the summer time. If you are able to secure a visit during the summer months, please consider that there are frequently older teens and young adults that like to hang out and swim at the falls.
The trail to Kilgore falls descends from the parking lot and requires a creek crossing to get down to the falls. The trail is an easy hike and should be accessible for all hiker ability groups.
